EU representative – act now!!
If you provide products and services to EU citizens, you will invariably process personal data about those people. If this is the case, you need to ensure you have appointed an EU Representative. This is a strict requirement under the GDPR- refer to Article 27 for more information. You should choose carefully and ensure that your EU Rep has GDPR knowledge and experience and is able to respond to requests from your EU customers quickly and effectively.
You should also consider the effect of BREXIT – this might sound strange but post-BREXIT it is likely that the EU and UK will operate under their own regulations and you all need an EU Representative in the UK and in the EU . This is not clear but having a rep that can operate in both countries would be a wise choice.
